President of the Council of Ukrainian Muslims Seyran Aryfov was awarded a diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "For Services to the Ukrainian People".
The award ceremony took place in the Metropolitan's House of the National Conservation Area "St. Sophia of Kyiv". The event was attended by chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar, representatives of churches and religious organizations, military chaplains, volunteers and public figures.
In their speeches, representatives of the state authorities emphasized the important role played by religious organizations and public activists in resistance to Russia's armed aggression, in volunteering.
In accordance with the order of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, President of the Muslim Council Seyran Aryfov was awarded for a significant personal contribution to strengthening the spirituality of the Ukrainian people, moral and psychological support for servicemen in the face of Russian aggression, educational and volunteer activities.
According to Sheikh Seyran, he does not perceive this award as personal:
— All activists and volunteers of the Muslim Council, employees of our Islamic centers in different cities of Ukraine deserve to be awarded at a high state level. Therefore, I emphasize that this diploma is a recognition of the activity of our organization, our contribution to the common struggle for freedom and independence of the state.
