The President of the Council of Ukrainian Muslims met with a public figure from the USA

Khaula Sawah, President and Co-Founder of the Union of Medical Care and Relief Organizations (USA), visited the headquarters of the Council of Ukrainian Muslims in Kyiv.

During a meeting with the President of the Council, Sheikh Seyran Arifov, Ms. Khaula spoke about her unification, including ten years of experience in implementing health care and assistance projects in Syria. The guest told how they collect donations, how they help people affected by the long-running Syrian war.

Sheikh Seyran acquainted Khaula Sawah with the activities of the Council and its extensive experience in helping Ukrainians that are in need. He also spoke about the current humanitarian situation in Ukraine. Separately, the President of the Council informed about the situation in the Muslim community of Ukraine, which arose as a result of a full-scale invasion of Russia, as many Muslims had to leave the war zones, and many remained in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

The cooperation of the Council of Ukrainian Muslims with the Union of Medical Protection and Aid Organizations has been going on for almost three months. With the support of the Union, a pharmacy was established in the Islamic Cultural Center of Lviv, where migrants have the opportunity to receive the most necessary medicines free of charge.

The participants of the meeting discussed possible options for further cooperation, because, according to Ms. Sawah, their organization is currently studying the situation in Ukraine and looking for ways to help those affected by the war.
