Next Saturday, 15 August, the opening ceremony of Chernivtsi Islamic Cultural Centre “Bukovyna” is to begin at 13:00. The Islamic Centre will not only become a congregational place for the local Muslims, but a place any non-Muslim can come to broaden their horizons, have firsthand experience with Muslims, and get answers to questions they were curious about.
Inviting everyone willing to join us on this special day — of course, with all the quarantine precautions. Our list of special guests includes Mufti of RAMU “Umma” Said Ismagilov, Head of All-Ukrainian Association “Alraid” Seyran Aryfov, delegates from Muslim communities all over Ukraine, local authorities and clergy and expat communities.
We would like to offer you an excursion through the Centre, presentation of the new edition of the Solomia Vivchar’s book “Ukrainian Thinkers and Islam” (the autograph session included) and treats.
Opening Islamic Centre “Bukovyna” is the local community’s next step forward, to strengthening interfaith ties and good neighbourliness among the people of Bukovyna [name of the region]. You don’t have to pray in the same way in order to support one another, live in peace and cohesion, and implement social and cultural projects together for the common good.
The land was bought for the donations of unindifferent people$ the construction was also funded by donations and took three years to complete. The believers also involved personally, as much as their skills and qualifications allowed them.
Islamic Cultural Centre “Bukovyna” will join the network of Association “Alraid” Islamic Centres. The mosque of the Centre will be run by RAMU “Umma”.
