Offering Heartfelt Condolences to Victims of Earthquake in South Asia

A powerful earthquake struck South Asia on October 26. 385 persons in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Northern India are officially reckoned dead already, however, each day brings a sad message to more and more families, for the emergency response groups find more dead bodies as they move further into the mountain areas.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to relatives and close ones of people who lost their lives in the incident, and to everyone who got injured or lost their property and homes. We pray that Allah Almighty grants Paradise to everyone who lost their loves in this catastrophe, and grants patience and absolution to those injured and their families. We also pray that God gives a great reward in both earthly life and hereafter to many people and social organisations’ teams, who quickly collected humanitarian aid and wnt in-situ in order to help the affected people. Some offered their possessions, others volunteered to use their professional skills — any help is such a grieve situation, especially in terms of threshold of winter, is priceless!

Indeed, everything Allah granted and took away belongs to Him, and He determined time for everything. We offer our heartfelt condolences to families who bury their dearest ones these days, and pray that God gives them patience and endurance. Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, taught the believers though Qur’anic revelation: “And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient, Who, when disaster strikes them, say, “Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return.” Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord and mercy. And it is those who are the [rightly] guided. (Qur’an, 2:155-157)”

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "Allah, the Exalted, says: 'I have no reward other than Jannah for a believing slave of Mine who remains patient for My sake when I take away his beloved one from among the inhabitants of the world".
