Women’s seminar at the Central Mosque of Lugansk: in search for solutions of important social problems

24.05.2012 / 1801
In following up the tradition of organizing cultural and education events for Muslim women, the women’s department of the All-Ukrainian Association of Public Organizations (AAPO) “Alraid” invited nearly 40 representatives of  “weak gender” from various cities of Donbass region to the fourth women’s seminar, held on May 20, 2012 in the Central Mosque of Lugansk.
The seminar aimed to enhance religious and legal literacy of women, women’s motivation to self-development for their more effective participation in family and public matters.
Development in any sphere should be logically started from rethinking relevant experiences of previous generations, because, unlike household routines or technical novelties, they never lose their significance. The seminar was, therefore, opened by the lecture of Mr. Ranat Habibutdinov, Imam-hatyb of the Islamic Cultural Center of Donetsk, in which he gave lots of examples of solutions for various daily situations by wives and righteous female companions of the Prophet (may be peace and blessings upon him). They were good women indeed, which were able to take strategically important decisions. Although being always ready to support their men in military and governance matters, they never abandoned their femininity and family matters.
Family relations are not as simple sphere of personal interactions as it seems to be at the fist glance. Due to careless attitudes to many related issues, a solid family that is not vulnerable to external shocks and based on mutual respect and mutual support cannot quite often be easily found. That is why Mr.Muhammad Al-Ustaz, Imam-hatyb of the Lugank Mosque, took on to highlight problematic points such as mixed marriages, search for compromise between wife and husband, difficulties and problems faced by young people who decided to take a serious step to create a family, priorities to be considered in making choice of partner. Also, issues were covered related with bringing up of children.
Concluding the seminar, Mrs. Tanzila Issa, head of women’s department at the AAPO “Alraid”, spoke on the theme “Patience and its benefits in the nearest and future life”, in which she explained typical misunderstandings of the meaning of “patience”, as too many people have fallen victim of substitution of concepts; they tend to treat the patience as inclination for passive watch of any injustice (including injustice on their address) without taking an attempt to correct the situation, rather than as steadfastness, consistency and balanced behavior.
Woman, as a daughter, wife and mother, has an extremely important position in a community, being a teacher of future generations. So, the AAPO “Alraid”, being aware of the vast scope of responsibility put upon the woman (the beautiful part of the human kind), regularly arranges various cultural and education events, to help young girls and women in building up their life in a more balanced way without abandoning their own “self”.
