Muslims of Ukraine celebrated the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the coming of Eid al-Fitr (Oraza Bayram).

About two thousand believers came to the Eid prayer in the mosque of the Kyiv Islamic Cultural Center. Parishioners began to gather long before the beginning, pronouncing, according to tradition, Takbir and Salawat - glorification of the Almighty Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Seyran Aryfov, the head of the Council of Ukrainian Muslims, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech:

“Dear Muslim brothers and sisters! I am grateful to the Almighty Allah for the opportunity to gather together on this bright day. Despite the fact that for the second time we have to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in full-scale war condition, may our hearts be filled with joy today. And at the same time, we should remember in our duas those who defend our Motherland at the front. Our duas today are for Ukraine's victory over the attacker.”

After the prayer and khutbah, which was delivered by the mufti of the RAMU "Ummah" Murat Suleymanov, people greeted each other and expressed good wishes. For the youngest Muslims, on the occasion of the holiday, gifts and an entertainment program were traditionally waiting outside the mosque.

Amal, a student of the "Nashe Maybutnye" gymnasium, noted the transience of the holy month:

“I really like spending time among my friends today. I am in a good mood, and the reason for this is the holiday. It’s a little sad that Ramadan is over. I could meet my friends in the mosque every day, but now this month is over, and you don't notice how time has passed.”

According to Alyona, a parishioner of the Kyiv Mosque who recently converted to Islam, her first Ramadan flew by in one breath:

“During Ramadan, I felt great. The feeling of confidence gave me an understanding of why and for whom I do all this - only in the name of Allah. Today is a special day for me and I'm a little excited. Inside I am filled with joy.”
