An event for those who love oriental culture of the Middle East, Northern Africa, Middle and Southern Asia is to be held at Kyiv Islamic Cultural Centre. The East Feast is meant to both show the variety of oriental traditions and become another link between Ukrainians. It’ll take place on August 23, at 25a Dehtyarivska Str, from 11 am to 4 pm.
A variety of interesting activities are awaiting for the guests: art of mehendi, beard care, oriental sweets, oil perfumes, handmade fair, chance to try some Muslim people’s traditional dress on, interesting quest and many others. And, of course, everyone can visit two conversational lectures on Islam and Muslims. Small visitors will enjoy a special programme of games and contests prepared for them.
According to Ms.Sabina Afzal, the organiser, the date has a special meaning for her team. August 23 is the Ukrainian Flag Day and the threshold of the Independance Day; these two holidays mean a lot for Ukrainians of various religious views and ethnic origin, as we all lived freely under this banner during Ukraine’s independence, with no discrimination for our ethnicities and religious views. We study, work, make friends, fall in love, get married and raise kids.
