Course of religious studies in Zaporizhzhya National Technical University includes not only cramming the facts, but also, if possible, communication with adepts of some or other ideology. Fortunately, many religions and their sects are presented in our country by their Ukrainian communities. Thus, students of the University are often to be seen at Zaporizhzhya Islamic Cultural Centre, where they are always welcome. The latest of such visits was on October 26.
Mr.Muhammad Mamutov, the local Imam, made an excursion around the mosque, and then explained the basics of Islam to the visitors, so that the students could get the general insight of this religion. The programme, however, wasn’t limited to that, and the guests could ask every question they found interesting and get an extended answer and explanation.
Such “en situ” classes help not only to understand some or other religion’s basics in general, but also to meet its adepts, which gives a wonderful opportunity to learn the impact this religion has on people’s everyday life.
