An Islamic Children’s Summer Camp “Druzhba” (“Friendship”) launched in a picturesque Transcarpathian Town of Ust’-Chorna. About 30 children from Muslim families will spend the whole week in the open air in Carpathian mountains.
Besides educating seminars adapted for kids, the programme includes different games, entertaining events and excursions. A one-week study plan is well-balanced in order to not only improve the kids’ knowledge of the Holy Qur’an and the basics of Islam, but to give proper attention to physical education as well. Everyday morning exercises, sport games in the open air, archery and mountain camping will help achieving maximum use from recreation in this area of unspoilt nature.
Social organisation “An-Noor” was the main facilitator of the event. The volunteers say it’s their first experience of arranging such a big event so far away from Ukrainian capital. They chose a hadith by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) “None of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself” — this is the main message the counselors try to get across the children.
