At the women’s feast at Odessa Islamic Cultural Centre one could try on some exotic clothing (Abayas, punjabi, sudanese Sari, kaftans), ornament their hands with henna, and learn wedding traditions of different Muslim nations —all this was available on March 9. The facilitators’ purpose was immovable: help people of different cultures know each other better.
Muslims of Odessa as well as appointed guests (representatives of the City Administration, doctors, educators, etc.) listened to interesting lectures on what a woman’s life is like in different regions, on brides wedding preparations, etc. Bride with a beautiful bouquet stopped the show, and after her entrance everyone was invited for a banquet.
