Juvenile period is the time of gaining skills for socialization and tempering character. Young people need to learn (often in hurry) mechanisms that rule the “adult world”. One overcomes this easy, and the other is very sensitive for stressful situations. Glossophobia is one of the manifestations of stress. Activists of “Noor” Female Social Organisation decided to help the Crimean teenagers overcome this problem.

They facilitated a training where they sat together with the teenagers and investigated the factors which make the public speech successful. Every last problem has been discussed, beginning with mental discomfort and ending with collecting data for the speech and making a clear structure of it. The facilitators didn’t just discuss theory; they provided the young people with a possibility to practice what they’ve learned, and then everyone participated in a discussion where each of them voiced problems they faced while preparing the speech and sought for means of overcoming these problems together. Trainers didn’t give out-of-the-box solution, but they lead the conversation instead, helping the participants find these solutions on their own.
