From June, 1, till June, 8th, 2011, in the town of Nikolaevka for participation in the Islamic camp came orphan girls of the Crimean peninsula. Their vacations were organized by the all-Ukraine Association of Social Organizations "Аlraid".
Kindness and sympathy of others to them made many children cry. They also learned to be attentive to each other, and importance of it first of all was unostentatiously explained at acquaintance game form. The girls were divided according to the level of their knowledge into different groups and were settled in comfortable rooms for 2-3 persons.
At the beginning there were fact-finding lectures on bases of faith and Islam for those children who did not possess sufficient knowledge of it. After that there were lectures about love to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and imitation to him, about importance of truthfulness, and about necessity of the best treatment to parents. And even the topic of the Judgment Day the tutors explained in the accessible form, thus without having intimidated the children.
Film about destiny of children from the poor family, and also educating cartoon films and video-clips on the topics of the lessons were organized, and it helped to visualize the received knowledge and to fix it.
The teachers made everything to inform each child about the necessity and importance of life according to the laws of Islam. Disclosing this or that topic they by vivid examples showed cleanliness of Islam, its simplicity, and, at the same time - greatness. That life according to its instructions is not one continuous difficulty as it may seem to someone by ignorance - but, on the contrary - simplification in many respects. That cleanliness and modesty is a half of faith, and a sincere prayer will always be heard and accepted by the Almighty.
Common daily prayers also brought together the participants of the camp and were for them a source of spiritual lifting. Even the youngest of them who hardly reached 7-8 years, independently and with huge desire performed even morning prayers, leaving their sweet sleep.
The program provided various active competitions on fresh sea air with balloons, balls and rackets which provided children with much energy.
In the evenings during the rest after the lectures and entertaining programs the girls wrote compositions on themes which were studied by them in the course of the day. The authors of the best compositions were encouraged by memorable prizes, stimulating by it other children to aspire to improve the result.
Discussing the problem of parent-children relations and thankfulness, the girls recollected a story of a man who presented a book to his son. The son was offended that the father presented him such an insignificant gift, and did not open the book. And only when in some years he decided to move and started to look up at his stuff, he opened the book and found out that actually it was a casket in the form of the book in which, reliably packed, car keys lay. He rushed to search for his father with whom he did not communicate for several years - but he already died, without being thanked by his son.
The children recollected this story when they tried to explain why it is necessary to be grateful for that good that we get, however insignificant it would seem.
We express sincere hope that the knowledge and skills acquired in the camp will be actively used by the girls in their everyday life and will make it more interesting, more bright and more saturated.
