It is the next time that young experts of the Holy Book gathered in Crimea to compete in their proficiencies and skills of reciting parts of the Quran.

The youth contest on recitation of the Holy Quran was undertaken on 9 September by the Public Organization “Emel”, which organized the event in the Islamic Cultural Center of “Alraid” in the city of Simferopol.

More than twenty young men and women were competing in the three nominations, showing the knowledge of rules for Quran recitation, memorization quality and beauty of voice.

Best readers were selected by the jury consisting of Mr. Suleyman Valiyev, Quran hafiz, prize winner at international contests; Mr. Kamal Hydayberdyyev, Koran hafiz; Mr. Rasim Dervishev, Shariah expert, graduate of Az-Zarka University (Jordan).

The first nomination, recitation of Surah Ya-Sin, engaged the largest number of contestants. Mrs. Arzy Arifova was recognized the best in this category. The 2nd  and the 3rd places were taken by Mr. Ayder Ahtemov and Mr. Anar Azizov, students of the Hafiz School “Ar-Ridwan” (Simferopol). The second nomination required knowledge of the 67th Surah, Al-Mulk. The top place was awarded to Mr. Ruslan Ziyatdinov, the 2nd place – to Mr. Ibrahim Umerov, and the 3rd place – to Mrs. Zarema Iliyasova.

Money awards from the Public Organization “Emel” in the first nomination amounted from 600 to 1000 grn.
(approx. from 75 to 120 USD), in the second nomination – from 200 to 600 grn. (approx. from 25 to 75 USD).

The amazing situation was in the third nomination, where only one person decided to demonstrate the knowledge from Surah An-Nabah to Surah At-Tarik. Due to absence of contestants, 14 years old Islam Tohlu was granted the encouraging prize in the amount of 200 grn. (approx.  25 USD).

The contest offered a good occasion for young Muslims who honor traditions and respect their Muslim legacy to compete in good deeds and enjoy recitation of the Holy Book of the Creator.
