REFERENCE

To the Russian people in connection with tragedy in
Moscow

March, 29th, 2010

Dear brothers and sisters!

The grief and indignation overflowed our hearts when we learnt about the terrible crime committed on March, 29th in the
Moscow underground. Tens of innocent people were killed and injured.

We resolutely condemn this brutal crime directed, in our opinion, on kindling of international and inter-religious hostility in the Russian society.

This crime is committed during the period when
Russia tensely searches for ways of achievement of sociopolitical stability, dynamic development of the economy and culture.
Russia consistently realizes a course on adjustment of strategic partnership with the Islamic world, actively participating in searches of decision of challenges connected with definition of qualitatively new level in relations.

We are sure that those criminals who committed this crime do not have nationality or religion. All world religions resolutely condemn terrorism, murder of innocent people in political purpose. The Holy Quran equates murder of one innocent person to the murder of the whole mankind. The human life in Islam is regarded as the highest gift of the Creator.

We call Russians of all nationalities and creeds to keep self-possession, calmness in this difficult period and not to give in on provocation from the powers of darkness, aspiring to cast
Russia into contention and chaos abyss.

We urge heads of Muslim organizations of
Russia to show the maximum diligence in preservation of peace and calmness on the Russian land and in protection of reputation of Islam and Muslims.

We wish to express our deep condolences to the brotherly Russian people and we believe that it will courageously endure this tragedy.
